Information stored on your device

To remember your progress, the site uses your browser's localStorage under keys that begin with "aurum". It stores your level in each game, stars, XP, daily-reward streak and number of wins. This data stays on your device; it is not sent to our servers. It is specific to the browser and device you use, and it is kept until you clear your site data or browser storage. If storage is blocked or corrupted the games still work, but progress will not be saved.

The site also uses a service worker and your browser cache to load pages and game files faster and to open previously visited pages offline. These hold copies of the site's own files only, and old copies are removed automatically when the site is updated.

Information collected automatically

Like most websites, the hosting provider that delivers this site may keep technical logs such as IP address, browser type, requested page and time of request, for security, abuse prevention and performance. We do not control the hosting provider's retention period; it is governed by that provider's own policy.

Analytics

We do not use analytics services on this site. If that changes, this policy will be updated before it happens.

Advertising

AURUM is free to play because it shows advertising from the third-party advertising network Adsterra. The formats used are banner ads, a native banner, a social bar and a pop-under (an ad that may open in a new browser tab or window after you click on the page). Ads are never shown on the privacy, terms, cookie or contact pages, are placed outside the games, and never earn XP, unlock anything or affect gameplay. To deliver, limit and measure ads, Adsterra and its partners may set or read cookies or similar identifiers in your browser and may receive your IP address and browser details; we do not control this. See Adsterra's own privacy policy for details.

Your choice. If your device's time zone suggests you are in Europe, no ad is requested until you choose "Show ads" in the notice at the top of the page. If your browser sends a Global Privacy Control signal, or you choose "No ads", no ad code is loaded. You can change your choice at any time from the Cookie Information page.

Third-party services

The pages and games are self-contained: they load no external fonts, analytics or trackers from us. The only third parties involved are the hosting provider that serves the site (GitHub Pages) and the advertising provider Adsterra, whose ad code is loaded from its own servers (for example abscloud.org and bauval.org) when ads are shown.

Your choices and rights

You can delete the stored progress at any time by clearing this site's data in your browser settings, and you can block cookies in your browser. Depending on where you live (for example the EEA, the UK or California) you may have rights to access, correct or delete personal data and to object to or restrict its processing. Because we hold no account data, most requests concern data held by the hosting or advertising providers; contact us and we will help where we can.

Children

AURUM is a general-audience site and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Data retention

Progress data lives in your browser until you remove it. We keep any e-mail you send us only as long as needed to answer you and keep a record of the correspondence.
